What does garage management software do?
It replaces the diary, the job sheets and the invoice pad with one system: a booking comes in (online or by phone), becomes a job with a slot, picks up parts and labour as the work is done, and leaves as an invoice the customer can pay. Along the way you get the customer's history, MOT and service reminders, and a view of what the workshop earned this month. The good ones also give the garage a website that takes bookings while you are under a car.
What is in the DealerSoftware Workshop plan?
| Jobs and schedule | Each booking is a job with a slot, status, notes and a vehicle check sheet. |
|---|---|
| Parts | Parts on the job, stock levels and supplier records. |
| Customers and suppliers | History per customer and per vehicle; supplier details for ordering. |
| Invoices and expenses | Labour and parts invoiced from the job; expenses recorded against the workshop. |
| Online bookings | Customers pick a service, a date and a time on your website; the slot is held and confirmed. |
| Workshop website | A public site with your services, prices, hours and a booking page, on your own domain. |
| Users | Two included, more at £20 a month each. |
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Your card is taken at signup and the first charge is on day 15; cancel before then and you pay nothing.
Does it work for an MOT centre?
Yes. An MOT is a service like any other: set its price and duration, and customers book slots online. The workshop website gets a page per service, so "MOT test at your garage" has a page of its own with the price and the month it was checked, which is what people searching "MOT near me" with your town actually land on. Reminders for MOT and service dates go out from the customer record.
I sell cars and service them. Do I need two systems?
No. Add the Workshop module to any dealer plan for £99 a month and the same login runs both. You choose whether the workshop sits on your dealer website as a Servicing page with its own booking form, or has a separate site. Prep work on your own stock becomes jobs too, so the cost of getting a car ready lands on that car's margin.
How does the workshop website help me get found?
Each service has its own page with a dated price, how long it takes, how to book and your opening hours, written to answer the questions people ask search engines and assistants ("how much is an MOT at a garage in my town", "which garage is open on a Saturday"). The site carries a full business record for Google with your address, hours and services, and a sitemap that updates when you change a price. See the features page for the rest.
What does it cost compared with other garage software?
UK garage systems that publish prices sit roughly between £50 and £150 a month depending on users and modules; many quote on a call. Dragon2000, the longest-established supplier with garage software, does not publish a price. DealerSoftware's Workshop plan is £99 with no contract, and the price is on the pricing page.
