DealerSoftware integrates with DealerPricing and we recommend it to our dealers; we do not earn a commission on sign-ups. Prices and figures are quoted from dealerpricing.co.uk/pricing on 22 October 2026 and may change.
What is DealerPricing?
DealerPricing is a subscription valuation and market-data tool built for the UK motor trade rather than for private buyers. Enter a registration and it returns trade and retail values, the cars like it on sale now and sold recently, how long they took to sell, supply and demand signals, and a provenance check. It was founded in 2024, covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is sold monthly with no contract. The product overview is at dealer pricing software.
How does DealerPricing value a car?
From the live market, not a book. Every search returns four DP valuations on the Basic plan (below market, average, clean and retail) and up to eleven on Pro, including trade poor, average and clean, part exchange and auction figures. Each valuation sits next to the comparable listings it was drawn from, so you can see why a figure is what it is and filter the comparables by spec, mileage and distance. The trade valuation tool page shows a worked example, and the demo shows a full search without an account.

Is DealerPricing worth it for a small dealer?
If you buy more than a handful of cars a month, one avoided overpayment pays for the year. A Basic 100 plan is £70 a month for 100 searches: 70p to know what a car is worth before you bid, against a few hundred pounds lost on a car bought at the wrong money. For a part-time trader doing five cars a month the maths is thinner, but the history check alone, at £2.50 against £10 to £20 elsewhere, often covers the difference.
How does DealerPricing compare with AutoTrader Retail Check, cap hpi and Glass's?
The main differences are coverage, contract and what is bundled. AutoTrader Retail Check values against AutoTrader's own stock and is only available with an advertising package, which DealerPricing's comparison puts at £1,148.64 a month including VAT for the standard package. cap hpi Black Book is a 12-month contract from £105.16 a month including VAT, with retail values only on the £249.29 Ultimate plan, and no history checks or live listings. Glass's and Indicata do not publish prices. DealerPricing is the only one of the group with whole-of-market listings, valuations, history checks and a VAT-aware retail calculator on one rolling monthly plan.
Those figures and the full criteria are in DealerPricing's own valuation tools compared page, checked on 4 October 2026; it ranks itself first, so read it with that in mind. Franchise dealers whose lenders quote cap hpi still need cap hpi; many run DealerPricing alongside it as the live-market check.
Which dealers is DealerPricing for?
- New and part-time traders: a published price, no contract, and a half-price first month make it the easiest valuation tool to start with. Use the history check on every purchase.
- Independent dealers with 10 to 50 cars: the core market. Price stock against the live market without a marketplace fee, and watch days to sell to spot cars that are priced wrong.
- Franchise dealers: a secondary check alongside cap hpi or Glass's, with comparables the book cannot show.
- Multi-site groups and buying teams: Pro 200 with team seats at £20 a user, the My Stock tool, and the developer API for bulk lookups and DMS integration.
- Remarketing and auction buyers: bid-side trade values and auction figures on the Pro plans, with auction site integration in beta.
How does DealerPricing work inside DealerSoftware?
With an active DealerPricing membership, DealerSoftware's vehicle check screen pulls the valuation, the live and sold comparables, market insights and the provenance check for any registration, and shows them against your own stock record. Buying decisions, pricing and the history check happen on one screen instead of three tabs. The link is read-only and uses your own DealerPricing account, so your search allowance and billing stay with DealerPricing. Sign up at dealerpricing.co.uk/signup, then add your API key under Settings in DealerSoftware. The feature is described on our features page.
Does DealerPricing include a vehicle history check?
Yes. The history check covers stolen, outstanding finance, write-off category, mileage anomalies and more, for £2.50 per check on a plan or £3.99 without one. Reports are branded PDFs stored online for six months. MOT history and recall status come free with every search, and a manufacturer service history check covers 20 makes on the Pro plans.
Can I use DealerPricing from my own software or an AI assistant?
Both. The developer API covers vehicle decode, valuation, provenance, tax and MOT, spec, live and sold market data and pricing insights, pay as you go or on monthly packages, with free sandbox keys. Pro plans can also connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through DealerPricing's AI assistant access, so you can ask an assistant what a car is worth and get the live figure.
How do I start with DealerPricing?
- Watch the demo search to see what a result looks like.
- Start a Basic 100 plan at dealerpricing.co.uk/signup (£35 for the first month, then £70).
- Run your next three purchases through it and compare the trade value with what you were about to pay.
- If you use DealerSoftware, paste your API key into Settings and the figures appear on your stock records. Questions about either side: DealerPricing support or ours.
